Goals for 2010

Well its almost a new year and that means resolutions... well sort of. A few years back I gave up on making resolutions, because like most of the world, I don't keep them! but I've decided to make a list of small meaning-full goal to work on through out the year rather than specific things, like 'lose 20 pounds' lol hopefully i do well at working on these...

1. Find some new bars... Clubs ain't my thing but i still need to find some fun spots!

2. Spend time with friends more- all of them, not just a select few [if/when possible]

3. Get a damn car/ DL!!! haha this is LONG overdue. i need to face my DMV/test anxiety =/

4. SAVE money.. no outrageous spending when I know spending x amount will set me back

5. STOP making donations to Bally's and get my ass toned and fit!!! I want to look HOTT come summer- bikini type hott.. lol

6. Fully-- FULLY focus on school. Spring is my last full time semester.. I want a damn 4.0! I know it's possible

7. Stop be scared of what others may think or say... time to SAY what I think/ feel! The overly-nice me is being left in 2009, i hope

8. Read more books... its apart of my 101 list =)

9. Volunteer more!!!

10. Find new hobbies.... starting with the guitar that i don't yet have, but will have soon =)

11. Become a little bit more of a fashionista... try a few new styles. looks

12. Be a better Christian... plan on reading my bible cover to cover!

13. Become a better person/friend.. I already try to be nice and positive to everyone... hope i keep it up.

14. Decrease my shy-ness! ahhh this has held me back far too much. I want 2010 to be they year that changes my life- for the better of course!

Best of 2009: #30 & 31

December 30 Ad. What advertisement made you think this year?
..... idk =/ ... but i have been seeing a lot of Disney print ads with the Muppets doing community service- building a house.. it keeps reminding me of the Alternative Spring Break class/project I get to be a part of next semester. [couldn't find the actual ads, but here's a cute video ]

December 31 Resolution you wish you'd stuck with.
Losing weight. At some point in 2008 i gained weight and i didn't notice until the
end of 2008. So I tried working on it during 2009... but at some point failed to go the the gym enough. BUT i did take a dance and aerobics class this past semester in school so i started seeing a little bit of difference. I hope in 2010 i can continue with the progress. =)

massive movie reviews

For half of December I've been having a movie mania since i was able to get free movies from Blockbuster for a whole month!! YAY.. So far here are some of the movies I've seen and my small review of them
- Fighting BORING... I'm sad about this one.. I expected a really good movie, but at least I got Channing Tatum shirtless! Cant go wrong with that. It reminded me of Fight Club- but i never saw Fight Club soooo i cant fully say how similar it is...But it almost seemed like lots of info was cut out of the movie... i finished watching and had way too many questions unanswered.. simple basic questions.. but still questions to connect to movie 2.5 out of 5 stars
- Taking of Phlem 123 - really good action movie! Denzel Washington and John Travolta both play characters that aren't common to most of the previous characters they have portrayed. Even though its a remake of a movie with the same name, this one was really good... never saw the original though; it was before my time. It kinda worried me about the possibility of this happening in real life... I'm sure it has, somewhere in the world... but I loved how Denzel's character was so calm during the whole ordeal, did the best he could to fix the situation and was still able to take the milk home to his wife [<-- that part was cute.. hope I didn't spoil anything for those who haven't seen it] 5 out of 5 stars
- Terminator Salvation -- didn't watch it so I can review it, but my mom loved it.
- The Ugly Truth - really cute movie... I now adore Gerad Butler! Damn that man's accent it OMG! Katherine Hiegel is a good actress. Both had good chemistry in this movie, it made me laugh. 5 out of 5 stars.
- The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past - this movie was cute. Matthew McConaughey has done a few Romantic Comedies in the past and they were also cute movies. The story line for this movie was kinda diff from others I've seen, especially with the ghosts... The concept was cute... Matthew's character had to learn/ remember the hard way that the woman he was meant to be with was the woman he met as a child.. but he damn near F'd up his brother's wedding in the process. 3.5 out of 5 stars
- Orphan - that little girl was one crazy bitch! haha i love [most] scary movies... although this was more of a 'thriller' it was still good. The story line seemed different, which is always good. the 'real' daughter of the family was too adorable. i love how she stuck up to the 'adopted sister' but it was kinda sad... for me at least.. cause the daughter was deaf... not sure if the little girl is deaf in real life, but now i want to learn sign language... 5 out of 5 stars- i couldn't predict the ending!!
- Fast and Furious - i was glad this addition to the F&F franchise included the original cast! F&F2 was good and F&F3 was a waste of damn time and money! But back to part 4.. loved it!! It picked up where Part 1 left off and answered any questions we may have asked. I thought it was F'd up what happened to Letty.... BUT that kinda built the rest of the movie. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker both looked real good.. Paul Walker looks damn good in a suit... it must be the eyes... but yea.. i give it 4 out of 5 stars [it shouldn't have taken this long to bring back the original cast!!!]

Sherlock Holmes

So partially against my will I saw Sherlock Holmes this weekend. I chose to not fully re-familiarize myself with the history of Sherlock Holmes, maybe because i didn't care or maybe because i didn't want any info to ruin the movie for me. Overall I thought the movie was okay- just okay. There were some funny parts, and some parts i found exciting.. By no means do i not like the movie, but its one of those films i would much rather wait to see when its rent-able! Robert Downey Jr. did a good job in this movie so did Rachael McAdams. She's come a very long way since Mean Girls!! but back to the movie.. about half way through i found myself completely.. well partially lost and confused. I understood Sherlock and Watson were chasing down a guy that everyone thought was dead... and i know he's suppose to solve crimes... but it took the movie every bit of its 2+ hours to let me know what the heck was going on! Overall the movie was nice, ended well and fully described everything i was confused about! I think there might be a sequel.. from the way it ended, but you never know in Hollywood. it gets 3.75 out of 5 stars... because I didn't fall asleep on this one [and Rob Downey Jr. is kinda hott.. kinda]! =)

Best of 2009: # 29

December 29 Laugh. What was your biggest belly laugh of the year?
.. I've had many laughs this year! one of the funniest- When me, bff and my mom went to see New Moon, the 2nd time! We told my mom that the end of NM shows a preview for Eclipse.... we didn't think my mom would believe us, but she did. She sat through ALL of the credits and was the only person left in the theater. The cleaning crew and all the people wanting to see the next show were patiently waiting outside. my friend went in to get my mom and she was beyond upset and embarrassed when there was no preview and about 50 people staring when she walked out the theater! HAHAHHA too flippin funny!!

A compulsive shopaholic's resolution

A few months ago I saw the movie Confessions of a Shopaholic and i decided I didn't want to become that girl... the girl with the enormous amount of debt and bill collectors stalking me on national TV.. now although that last part may never happen, I still don't want to take any chances. I recently got a seasonal job at Macys and believe it or not, the 'season' is over! yep.. It was about 1 whole month i was there. I'm kinda shocked, not so much by the short frame of time I was there but more so at the fact that during the time of employment I didn't buy anything!!! Seriously! I was beyond tempted to buy every cute thing i saw, but didn't. I know it sounds silly, but I'm being honest. it could have partially been due to the fact that this recession is kicking my butt and I'm B-R-O-K-E or that I'm finally getting better at restraining my compulsive shopping-ness =) [although i think it has more to do with the first]. I'm hoping for 2010 I can make much smarter choices and not just buy stuff because I 'think' I need it or because I'm bored. My plan:
(1) stay out of the mall as much as possible!!
(2) hide destroy credit cards! i already leave them at home no need to over spend what i don't even have.
(3) have more self control... go back to the old me who didn't give a damn about labels or brands... not saying that i wont still look cute but unless its an extremely special occasion and I cant find what i need in my closet- that's the only reason I need to be shopping!

Best of 2009: 24-28

December 24 Learning experience. What was a lesson you learned this year that changed you?
one of the main things i learned this year is this: Dont always trust everyone you claim to be a friend... not all of them are. You find out who your trues friends are when times get hard and you're down on your luck. this goes for family as well. Theres nothing wrong with knowing a lot of people, but you have to know who from your group is true!

December 25 Gift. What's a gift you gave yourself this year that has kept on giving?
Way back in Janurary I bought a new iPod, my mini was dead. But i'm always listening to music and many of the songs help me get through stressful situations or help me to calm down when i'm axious. I sure it sounds silly, but it works for me.

December 26 Insight or aha! moment. What was your epiphany of the year?
.... this one can tie back in to the 'Dec. 24' entry

December 27 Social web moment. Did you meet someone you used to only know from her blog? Did you discover Twitter?
mid-way through 2009 i stopped using MySpace!! and around the same time i discovered Twitter! I wasnt too thrilled with Twitter at first, but after a while it grew on me and i got hooked! I've detached myself a little, dont want to get too hooked.

December 28 Stationery. When you touch the paper, your heart melts. The ink flows from the pen. What was your stationery find of the year?
There's no piece of stationary that stands out to me... but one of my sororiy sisters did give me a cute little stationary set.

Best of 2009: 18- 23

December 18 Shop. Online or offline, where did you spend most of your mad money this year?
i do believe that the money i spent that didnt go towards bills went to Forever 21 and Macys

December 19 Car ride. What did you see? How did it smell? Did you eat anything as you drove there? Who were you with?
i only went on 2 'road trips' this year. (1) to Vegas to see J. Timberlake in concert... i went with my mom...and i think we ate Burger King and snacks (2) was to Stanislaus, CA for a sorority event. I rode w/ 2 sisters. It was the middle of the night so we had junk foods.. hershey candy, soda, chips! it was fun we played random games in the car!

December 20 New person. She came into your life and turned it upside down. He went out of his way to provide incredible customer service. Who is your unsung hero of 2009?
..... idk

December 21 Project. What did you start this year that you're proud of?
I have more than one answer for this one. One project that i signed up for this year, but wont start until next year is one im extermely proud of. I signed up for a school-wide projec called Alternative Spring Break. 30 students were hand-selected [i was luckily included in that number] we take a class during Spring 2010 semester. Then during my school's spring break we go to New Orleans and help rebuild areas that are sill sestroyed by Hurricane Katrina- suprisingly there are parts of N.O. that are still in shambles. But I am beyond excited to be partcipating in this projects since Spring '10 is my last full-time semester!

December 22 Startup. What's a business that you found this year that you love? Who thought it up? What makes it special?
.. idk

December 23 Web tool. It came into your work flow this year and now you couldn't live without it. It has simplified or improved your online experience.

Happy Holidays!!!

I hope that everyone has a fun and safe holiday! whether you celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas or Kwanzaa hope everyone gets to spend time with friends, family and all loved ones. Personally my family, since we're so small don't exactly celebrate Christmas. I'll get into the spirit and all but we just don't go all out with gifts. Forgive my babbling.. I'm wide awake at flippin 4am, a tad bit tipsy still and watching Prison Break! =) So all-in-all HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Graffiti review

I took the last few days to really listen to Chris Brown's new CD- Graffiti. Since I've been a CB fan from the beginning I bought the deluxe edition... 6 extra songs! =) Here's what I thought of the songs.
my faves- "I Love U" "Sing Like Me" "So Cold" "Wait"

the obvious-- songs about the end of his and Rihanna's relationship. 'people'-- don't know exactly who those people are.. but yea-- they say after a break up most music artists make better music.. and i guess its true. Some of the songs that I think reference Rihanna or are about their past relationship: "I'll Go", "So Cold" "Crawl" "I Need This" ''Falling Down"

best collaboration- Chris does a lot of collaborations... but my favorite is "Wait" ft/ Trey Songz & Game.. anything with Trey Songz I will love! He can sing like no other!!

Diff sound- "For Your Love" is one song that kinda stands out to me. It has a different vibe to it... reminds me of a song by an alternative group.. just cant think of which song.. either way i like this song too.

Overall I give it 5 out of 5 stars!

Brittany Murphy... a good actress gone

I know I'm a few days late posting this... had to really think of what to say, then work kinda prevented me from posting sooner. There's not too many actresses who I can say I've been following since I was little! Brittany Murphy was one of those actresses. I was so shocked when I read this on my Yahoo news page when signing onto the internet. For a second I thought it was a joke... but its not. I've seen so many of her movies it kinda hard to believe that she really died. She was in Clueless which was one of the biggest movies I remember from the 90s. Its the movie that defined my 5th grade year! Brittany had a lot of potentional to grow and make more great movies, but I'm glad I was able to enjoy the movies she was able to make.

Best of 2009: 14- 17

here's the next portion of my Best of 2009 list =)

December 14 Rush. When did you get your best rush of the year?
Going to 6Flags... I HATE rollercoasters but somehow went on one this year. That was enough of a rush to last me a while!

December 15 Best packaging. Did your headphones come in a sweet case? See a bottle of tea in another country that stood off the shelves?
... nothing particular comes to mind

December 16 Tea of the year. I can taste my favorite tea right now. What's yours?
i'm not a big tea person. BUT the one tea i drink often, out of the 2 teas i every drink is..... Passion Tea Lemonade from Starbucks. =) its sooo good. Hot or cold.. but the one time i got hot tea its burned my tounge.. so i'll stick to the icey goodness of the lemonade version!

December 17 Word or phrase. A word that encapsulates your year. "2009 was _____."
"a learning experience" with all the good and bad things that happened this year, i definitely learned a lot! I hope i take all that i learned and apply it more in 2010!

T.I. gets to go home!!

I'm not the biggest rap fan, I have a select few that I like and T.I. is one of them! Does anyone remember the show he did on MTV earlier this year before going to jail?! Well his jail sentence has ended... sort of. He's been released from the federal prison and being sent to a correctional facility for 3 more months. T.I. will then be on house arrest and community service duty, I'm assuming until the full year from when he was first sent to jail is complete. Glad to know he's making good progress and I'm pretty sure there will be a new CD once all his necessary time is served.

17 years of being 'Real'

So next week on the 30th, MTV starts the 23rd season of the longest running show ever- The Real World. I honestly can't believe this show is still up and running. The new season take 7 strangers to the nation's capital- Washington DC for those unfamiliar w/ U.S. trivia. I think when season 20 started it was weird to watch because the cast member were the same age as me.... and now I'm almost "too old" to be considered for this show but I still love it.This show started the craze of reality TV... but about 10 years before anyone else considered it. I wonder what cities this show will visit in the future.

1- New York
2- Los Angeles
3- San Francisco
4- London
5- Miami
6- Boston <-- this is the season I started watching I like n 6th or 7th grade!
7- Seattle
8- Hawaii
9- New Orleans
10- Back to N.Y.
11- Chicago. <-- dnt remember this season...who was on this season?!.. or maybe i'm getting it confused w/ the Vegas season....
12- Las Vegas
13- Paris
14- San Diego
15- Philidelphia
16- Austin
17-Key West
18- Denver
19- Sydney
20- Hollywood
21- Brooklyn
22- Cancun
23- Washington, D.C.
* I missed the 'excitement of seasons 13-19 when I didn't have cable... I probably could've watched at mtv.com but that idea didn't cross my mind. :-/
So is anyone else excited for the new season of the Real World?! OR do you think MTV has held on too long?!

Britney ends 2009 on a high note

I've been a fan of Britney's for a long time. I was glad when I saw this magazine at the store. I didn't buy it, but it was nice to see the B. Spears has made a huge turn around from where she was a few years back... back when she had that Chaotic show with K-fed.. does anyone remember that mess?? Or maybe when she hit a mega low and shaved her head... oooh I felt soo bad for her. But I must admit her Circus album was good and her boys are adorable!! The one on the left looks like her... the other looks like his dad [i don't remember the boys names.. but I swear I thought they were older...]..

good luck if you live in any of these cities!

Golden Gloibe nominations

I don't usually watch many of the 'big' movie awards cause its usually films I've never thought of seeing that sweep up all the awards.. and I think the nominations for next years Golden Globes kinda proved my reasoning. Now some of the films nominated I do want to see- but only a very few [Precious, both movies Sandra Bullock was nominated for..., and maybe a few others]. For whatever reason I was awake way too early and discovered that the nominations were going to be read from Bev. Hills. Little did I know my fav celeb was one of the announcers. Yep ladies and gents J.Timberlake was one of the 3 announcers. Now did I stay up to watch the presentation? Heck no,! I set my DVR to tape 2 hours of the news and I went soundly back to sleep. I was a little confused as to why Avatar was nominated... has that movie even come out yet? and is Up In The Air that good?! Like i know it was a limited released last month and opens everywhere on Christmas.. but yea, it didn't seem like a great movie from the previews... maybe its just me...

letting go of the past

Since moving I've realized that I am a (semi) huge pack rat. I tend to keep things and not throw stuff away even when I don't currently need it, in hopes that Imight need it in the future! Sooo I finally finished cleaning my room and unpacking and decided to fully let go of the past (i.e. the junk I've been holding onto. I literally had/have old essays, super old posters (nsync, o-town, etc...). Its crazy for me to think back on the amount of my parent's money I must have spent in order to buy all those dumb teeny-bopper magazines (as they were called back in 1998). So I know it sounds childish but I'm glad I was finally able to get rid of all the stuff I don't need. I think in today's society people tend to hold on to things for sooo long. While moving 2 of my friends said that "at a certain point you have to let things go" this def includes material things. So I feel a lot better now that I have a little less clutter :)

more of the Best of 09 Challenge. check out how this works [here]

December 7 Blog find of the year. That gem of a blog you can't believe you didn't know about until this year.
--> www.collegefashion.net I don't remember how I stumbled across this site/blog but when I did, I loved it.. and it introduced me to various other blogs and site.. and now here I am with a blog of my own =)

December 8 Moment of peace. An hour or a day or a week of solitude. What was the quality of your breath? The state of your mind? How did you get there?
I can't think of a single moment were i was able to stop and reflect on life... but usually during extended breaks from school [holidays] or various train rides home, I put on my iPod and think about whatever is going on at that time.

December 9 Challenge. Something that really made you grow this year. That made you go to your edge and then some. What made it the best challenge of the year for you?
the 101 list I made really made me think about the things i want to do in life. I'm constantly thinking about what I need to do to graduate or to get the dream job I want and Ive but ME and my random simple ambitions on the back-burner. This list helped me to reflect on the inner me [if that makes sense] and find the other side to me that's never shown.

On a more serious note: the death of my uncle was a huge challenge. I learned that weekend how important family is to me. Even though I don't see my dad's side of the family much since their in the south [TX, Louisiana, etc] I realized how much family means to me. It had been a 7 year gap from the last time I saw my dad til when I saw him at my uncle's funeral... it was a crazy weekend... definitely don't want to take any more moments for granted.

December 10 Album of the year. What's rocking your world?
hmmmmm idk there's been soo many... gotta scroll through my iTunes first... ok, checked and I still don't know. Its hard for me to narrow this down because i listen to all kinds of music.. so here's a list of the Albums [full albums] I got this year.
[in random order]
1.Trey Songz -- Ready
2. Lady GaGa --
The Fame
3. Day 26 -- Forever in a Day
4. Taylor Swift -- Fearless
5. Keri Hilson - In A Perfect World
6. Jazmine Sullivan - Fearless
7. Jordin Sparks - Battlefield
8. Mariah Carey - Memoirs of an Imperfect Fallen Angel
9. Backstreet Boys - This is Us
10. Twilight-- Soundtrack- technically I borrowed this from my bestie.. but it was still new music to me
And a few albums I'm hoping to buy before 2009 ends.
Chris Brown
Jay Sean
Kings of Leon
Timbaland
Black Eyed Peas
Rihanna
Leona Lewis [both albums =/]
etc... there some more i can't think of that need to be added to the "buy me" list

December 11 The best place. A coffee shop? A pub? A retreat center? A cubicle? A nook?
any place where I'm not completely stressed out is a good place to be =)

December 12 New food. You're now in love with Lebanese food and you didn't even know what it was in January of this year.
Can't think of any new foods I've tried this year. I'm such a creature of habit. I tend to stick with what I know

December 13 What's the best change you made to the place you live?
this is easy- i changed the place i lived =) my mom and I recently moved to a smaller, nice place and i love it!!! the neighborhood is nicer, quieter. This move allowed me to clear sooo much clutter out of my life its not even funnie.. sad to say, I'm a pack rat... it's a work in progress.

Getting in the holiday spirit

So since its a new holiday season and I'm living in a new place with mi familia I suddenly feel the need to be festive, even though we don't exactly celebrate Christmas like most people do! Sooo I got a cute cookie-cutter from Albertson's shaped like a gingerbread man.... and baked some macadamia nut gingerbread shaped men =) and get a few jumbo bags on M&Ms to add some holiday coloring.

And aren't these babies the most adorable?!?

A new Kardashian is among us.

Regular news and E! Network reported that Kourtney gave birth to a baby boy today! Mason Dash Disick! Congrats to Kourtney Scott, and the entire family. I wonder if Mason will look like the Kardashians or like Scott?! Hmmm I'm sure pictures will show up eventually.

The Kardashians are back!!

Is anyone else excited for the new season of Keeping up with the Kardashians?! Although Kim occasionally annoys me, and I think Kris tries a lil too hard to stay "young and hip" I love this show! Khole is awesome! I adore her and Rob... well he's just all kinds of HOTT! The first episode was good... nothing less than I expected. I was kinda shocked when Khole smacked Scott... a clear result that she had too much to drink and/or that she really, REALLY hates him. For a second during the show I started to wonder why in the hell Khole was living in a freaking hotel [regardless of how nice it looked, it was still a hotel] and she just got married. But then I remembered they kinda rushed to get married and well in 1 month had no time to house-hunt. From the previews there's gonna be major drama going on... I'm just ready to see that Rob vs. Scott fight... Not really pleased with Rob's face being all bloody but I'm sure Scott's will look worse. You can bet I will have future postings about this show/family!

Best of 2009: 1-6

So I was reading a blog that I follow, and came across a 'Best of 2009 challenge'. its kinda sorta like the 101 list, except rather than making a list of things you want to do its a reflection list of things you've already done. Sooo I figured I'd give it a try.. a feel up for a challenge =)

read about the challenge here

December 1 Trip. What was your best trip in 2009?
Well Ive only been 2 places this whole year.. no 4 hehe [Texas- multiple times, Santa Barbara, Stanislaus, and Vegas.] The best was prob back to my other home- Texas for my family reunion. I hadn't seen my dad or sooo many of my family there since moving to California sooo it was nice to see familiar faces =)

December 2 Restaurant moment. Share the best restaurant experience you had this year. Who was there? What made it amazing? What taste stands out in your mind?
hmmm this one is hard... (1) i went to Olive Garden earlier this year w/ my lineage sisters... and the waiter was super nosey.. kept asking random questions about the gift we brought. (2)Benni Hannah's w/ my mom, her co-workers, my bestie and a mutual friend.... it went from fun to embarrassing in 2.5 seconds... being the closet Twilight fan that i was an possibly still am, discussing Twilight and people getting into heated debates about [ugh] Rob Pattinson was just not okay with me....

December 3 Article. What's an article that you read that blew you away? That you shared with all your friends.
cant think of one... =/

December 4 Book. What book - fiction or non - touched you? Where were you when you read it? Have you bought and given away multiple copies?
I know this will sound lame, but the Twilight book. I only picked these because prior to this summer I wasn't much of a book reader unless it was school related, and even then it was a struggle. At some point i lost touch with the side of myself that loved to read. Now after finishing all 4 Twilight books in 6 wks I'm challenging myself to read a lot more!

December 5 Night out. Did you have a night out with friends or a loved one that rocked your world? Who was there? What was the highlight of the night?
can all the concert's I've been to count for this?! I've had a lot of fun nights out...I'll just list a few--(1) going to Lucky Strike, not to bowl, but to drink... and boy those drinks were strong! (2)Ne-Yo concert w/ my bestie and her co-worker. the Concert was awesome, the venue was okay but the drinks, well soda SUCKED! haha I'll never for the disgusting taste of the sprite they gave me, almost ruined the night. ... (3)partying w/ sorority sisters= good times, always. (4) oh and most recently going to the midnight premiere of New Moon was damn near an adventure- hilarious "burger queen"

December 6 Workshop or conference. Was there a conference or workshop you attended that was especially beneficial? Where was it? What did you learn?
I think I've only go to 2 'conferences' this year.. my sorority's national retreat and a leadership conference at my school... and i think the leadership conference was really beneficial since i took on a huge leadership role this year.

H.A.L.O. Awards

So I actually watched Nickelodean.. or Teen Nick just to see the Halo Awards. This was a cute show, I liked the idea that teens who work hard to make a difference were honored. Two of the stories were really touching.. the 1st- a girl from Long Island had scoliosis and started a club for other girls in her area. I really connected to this story because I too have/had scoliosis. Although I didn't have to wear a back brace like Leah did, its still a challenging thing to go through. Much props to this girl for making a difference!

The other story-- Brian. Ahhh his story is beyond said. His twisted father who was a lab technician injected him with HIV because he and Brian's mother were getting divorced and this man didn't want to pay child support. Now the asshole is spending the rest of his life in prison! This kid started an organization to bring more awareness about kids with AIDS and sadly due to his father's actions he lost his hearing.

I think all these kid's stories were amazing and its good to see Nickelodean shining the spotlight on kids that are making a difference. It was inspiring to watch.

How many children is too many?.. REALLY?!

So the Duggar family has 19 kids-- 19 freaking offspring!! Was that not a point in time when either of these parents thought that after so many years problems may occur if they continue popping out the little ones? I knew for a while they had a show, not sure if its still on TV though... but really 19 kids?! I really think someone needs to step in and stop them because 19 kids [with prob 16 or 17 still at home] is just not healthy.... But I do hope that baby #19 gets better, she's a pre-mi like I was and being born 3 months early is no easy task!

* How do they remember all their children's names?! =/

Willow Smith influenced by Rihanna?!

Why is this the first thing I see when getting on the Internet? I don't know if I should be shocked or mad at the parents.... BUT considering I could never be mad at Will Smith, I'll be shocked. Willow Smith, daughter of Will and Jada, was at some award banquet rockin a fully Rihanna-inspired hair style. This girl is only 9 yrs old, so idk if this style is considered appropriate. I mean, how many 9-year-old girls get part of their head shaved?! But what kinda spooky is Willow looks *Exactly* like her dad! Its like looking at Will with half a head full of hair-- AWKWARD!!

and another thing... what's up with Jaden's fro?! Can they control it a little... just a little.

MTV's Teen Mom

I wont lie, I did watch the MTV show 16 & Pregnant. I personally don't know what its like to have a child at a young age because, well I don't have kids. but I thought this was a decent enough show. Many of the girls had the same naive thought "I didn't think this would happen to me". And now 4 of the girls from the show have a new spin-off show "Teen Mom". Idk what to make of this show, i guess its showing the real life aspect of being a teen mom. Each of this girl's situations are different and its obvious none of them were ready for being a parent.

I know teen pregnancy has been a huge thing for decades, and it seems the media kinda went into over-drive about the topic after Britney Spears' lil sister got preggers but i wonder--> Is this MTV's way of teaching teens the 'truth' of having sex too soon and not being safe? I feel bad one some of these girls though. 1 dropped out of high school, I'm assuming due to lack of support from family? and then the girl who gave her baby up for adoption, only gets to see her baby girl twice a year and her mom and step-dad[who happened to be the baby's daddy's father...] never stop complaining about it... I don't foresee a strong 2nd season.. hopefully this goes along with MTV's plan at having preventing teen pregnancies, at least that's what I think their plan is.

Taylor Swift's hair makeover

I was going to post this yesterday BUT had a final to study for... so I'm posting it now.. Ms Taylor Swift, one of the few county singers I listen to, Straightened her curly hair.. not from some angels it looks like a wig, but idk 100%.. I'm not so sure I like her hair like this. Maybe if it was styled different, idk.

TMI on public trasportation

The above pic seems to be a rule on most public transportation systems, but its one of those rules that become hard to keep track of who is doing it. But OMG I wish the metro security would've been on the train the other day. I know people talk loud on cell phones, we all do it at one point or another. maybe even to the point that people turn and look at you.. its happens easily, especially if you are trying to block out a outside noise [passing cars, lawn mower, train, etc] So the other day I was headed to school, it had to be around 9:30 or 10am... AM! and suddenly I begin to hear a lady talking-- I could hear her through my earphones. After a while her conversation went from rude and loud to nasty and louder!!! I swear, next thing i know I can hear this chic babbling about some dude she hooked up with and that she's mad because "he was fine but has a small wiener" YES that is what she said... now directly in front of the woman is a 4 or 5 year old boy. You would think that she would censor herself, use less descriptive words, but nope... she continues. If its one thing that I hate, its this!! DO NOT put all your personal business out there via phone conversation while on public transportation... I do not want to hear about you sticking your hand down some dudes pants and getting mad cause its not big enough [same lady previously mentioned] Some people have zero respect and no shame. Its NEVER okay to blab your business or someone else's while out in public.. especially on public transportation. Its a nuisance, a distraction and beyond unnecessary!! I swear that must have been the most disturbing conversation i ever had to hear, even if it was only one side of the conversation.

No air time for divas!

So I was watching the KTLA news this morning. Snoop Dogg was there to promote his new CD. A children's choir was there performing some holiday songs... and at some point the news anchors were suppose to interview Perez Hilton... I think he's releasing a book? Idk... I don't follow him much. BUT after Snoop did his segment and the kids sang, the news anchors revealed that Perez would not be on the show after all. Apparently he was upset that he had to wait and would be on until after Snoop and the kids. Ummm does he really think he's suppose to get special treatment?! All he does is blog about celebs... why throw a temper tantrum and burn bridges.... his loss. What makes the situation 10x worse is that he's a grown man! It doesn't matter if he's gay, straight, or squared... what kind of ADULT throws a temper tantrum? Someone is clearly a spoiled diva brat!

Home Makeover

Is it just me or does Extreme Makeover: Home Edition make anyone cry? I swear just the opening 10 minutes when Ty (I think that's his name) introduces the chosen family to his team... ahhh :-/ but this weeks episode was no different... with the exception that Usher and Selena Gomez helped out. Usher help with painting walls and laying tile. And while the family was sent to Hollywood the daughters got to meet Selena Gomez. Awww it was a cute episode... its always nice to see deserving families get a nice new home. :) and while on the subject of this show.. I read a few days back that one family that was able to get a home makeover can't pay their mortgage and their home might be up for foreclosure. WTH! I thought that type of stuff was taken care of prior to the families getting the new house but I guess not. I hope things work out for that family.. it would really suck to lose your new home.

* After a little research i found this foreclosure scare/possibility happened to another family back in 2007 =/ Hopefully none of those families lose their homes.

Chris Brown's 20/20 special

I've always been a CB fan; since his first album came out. And I saw him in concert once, it was a good show. So i was really shocked when they whole "situation" came up back in Feburary. I never took sides I love both Chris' and Rihanna's music. By now we all know their each releasing new albums... Rihanna has been all over everywhere promoting, but Chris- not so much. But its partially understandable... he has to fix his image... lots of people are still shining a bad light on him. So recently he did an interview for 20/20 and here's what I thought about it:

* I really think CB is sorry for the entire situation. In nearly all of the interview's I've seen him do, expecially this one he genuially looked and sounded sad. Im glad he apologized- again- so people can hopefully see he's trying to change.

*As far as the part about the song he wrote to Rihanna, and her hearing it, or not heariing it.... hmm who knows? I didn't see her interview so i can't fully comment on that. But what i can comment on it Chris' song "crawl" - its a nice song, you can totally feel and hear the sadness of the song.

*I applaud Chris for trying to make a change. He may not be doing what some people want or expect him to do, but from the little things I've seen, [Interviews and a song or 2], it appears to me that he's trying to change. Going back to the Chris he was when "Run It!" came out.

check out the 20/20 clip here--> Chris Brown Interview on Rihanna With Robin Roberts - ABC News

And here's a lil 'old school' young Chris... can it be said that this was "back in the day"? hmm idk this was one of my fav songs from his first album.

Life Decisions

Have you every made a decision that seemed good at the time but then after a while you realize it may not be 100% better =/ well thats the situation I find myself in NOW nd its kinda depressing. So i got a new seasonal job at the reatail place [wont say where] but the hours are super late and with no car and no running buses getting home by cab is hecka expensive in LA. And I cant quit since I *really* need the money and its only for 4 to 5 more weeks.... ahhh! If i could get a job closer to my new place things would be a little better.

Movies, popcorn and ... wine?!

I was watching the new about an hour ago and this story caught my attention. There's a fairly new movie cinema that very different from others. It has plush seats, serves all the regular snacks, shows the same movies; but there is one noticeable exception- They serve wine?!?!? Yep, alcohol at the movies. So the news guy from KTLA [the only news I watch] was at the Gold Class Cinema in Pasadena. This place looks nice, but there are a few draw backs. the seating is spaced out, so its 2 chair sectioned together, space, the 2 more chairs. Soo this is clearly not the spot to go with a bunch of friends. The theaters inside are tiny, based on the one they showed. Not only can you order Wine while you watch your movie; if you get cold they can provide you with a blanket and pillow! WTF.. when did going to the movies become a lounge bar/airplane?! If I'm going to the movies, I not trying to sleep [although its happened 3 times.. that's a diff story]. Its like they get you all settled into the chair, give you alcohol and next thing u know the ending credits are rolling and you've missed the entire movie. oh and did i mention it cost $35 to see a movie! I definitely wont be going to Pasadena to check out this place.

the Tiger Woods Situation

Ive never been into golf, but heck Tiger Woods has been one of the best golfers since I was in 5th grade[from what I've read and heard]. But this whole situation is crazy! It all strted with him wrecking his SUV... I'm still stuck on how this all happened if his wife was chasing after him? and now multiple women are coming out claiming to have been in an affair?! WTF... the local news this morning spoke with a rep for the first woman that spoke about her affair with Tiger. Apparently she thought she was the onlyother woman?!?!?! WHAT! since when is being the OTHER WOMAN okay?! Last I checked it never was. This is just a shame. If there are other women that have had some kind of affair with Tiger I will be shocked... for all parties involved. Tiger shouldn't have cheated AND these women should be ashamed of being with a married man-- now they'll be labled home-wreckers.....

Procrastination Kills

Soooo, how was everyone's Thanksgiving?! Good I hope. Mine was incredibly hectic! I started a new job Friday[ yep.... retail during black Friday!.. wasn't as bad as i expected.] Worked during the weekend, had a 8page paper to type by Tuesday and had to move!!! ummmm don't know how it happened, or how I survived it all but I did! and honestly the hardest part was that darn paper... [and some of my overly-stuffed boxes I think i'm a semi-hoarder]. I kinda sorta HATE writing papers.. doesn't matter how short or long I just dont like them. I tend to do well on them, better than I do on test but I still dont like them. maybe if I took a creative writiing class it would help my distain towards writing essays, but with one semester left to write papers, whats the point?!

[if i drove... this would be the highway i'd need to be on...]

Bad Girls Club

New season started tonight!! This is probably one of the only reality show I really look forward to watching. I didn't start watching until Season 2 but eventually caught up on Season 1. It seems with each new season there's more drama- this new season is no different. And within the first episode there is already a few of these girls that are so annoying its funny. HA!

for the few viewers i have [=( ] do any of you watch this show?!?!

P.S. ummmm does anyone know what was up with the Natalie girl making those rude ass ccomments about Rihanna?! sooo unnecessary, trying too hard to be seen and heard. shame.
