Is He Really Trying to be Governor?!

Okay... seriously, California is doomed- DOOMED if this man gets close to becoming our new Governor! The hilarious part is his super thick that I can barely understand and the TMZ commentaries. I'm still not sure how serious this guy is... I'm sure his "promises" are all lies... He basically insulted all Latinos .... and he's just plain ignorant... I would really like to know who else will attempt to run for Governor of CA.

Grammy's & a B-day

So the Grammy's are tonight! I'm kinda excited... I love award shows for some odd reason. I hope the performances are good and my favs win... something!! I'll probably post my opinions on the show later.

While on a musical note... it's my fav performer's has a birthday today... my friend thought I was crazy for remembering this... but after being a fan of someone;s music for more than 10 years isnt it kinda hard to not know... considering he was in a boyband in the late 90s and I was the typical boy-band fan.. knew way too much useless info.. hahaha... sooo yea... Happy Birthday to Justin Timberlake.. I was soooooo beyond sad when i heard he was at Timbaland's show. Considering i didn't even find out about Timbaland's concert until last week, which was too late to even get tickets.

Shopping Hiatus Broken!

So recently I went a month or 2, or 3 with shopping ::gasps:: mainly because I wanted to break my bad habit of buying things I didn't need and also because I was super broke. So now that im back to working, I'd derived a little plan to help me from over-spending.... pay in cash!! haha sounds silly, but most people pay w/ debit or credit cards now a day, right?! So recenly I went to the mall... first time I didn't see anything I felt like buying... strange... second time went with my bestie and forced myself to shop with the cash I had and that was it! And I must say I did pretty good thanks to Forever 21's inexpensive-ness .... and the fact that Bakers didn't have the $80 boots i sooo desperately wanted =(

cute top .. almost got the cardigan until I found this =)

another cute top... I like Roses for a particular reason...sorority thing

white leggings.... I have 4 other pair of leggings that I don't wear.... but these go great with the Rose top!

2 cardigans... haha every time I see a cardigan I think of the Old Navy commerical "Party Cardi" lol... those silly manniquens.

can you see this one... its lavendar.. kinda matched the cover.. sorry

tanks-- you can NEVER havve too many of these!

cute jewerly from Torrid... They have cute clothes, but i cant wear 'em... so i buy their accessories!! The ALWAYS have cute stuff!

** if anyone know where i can find boots [in BLUE/NAVY] like these that are LESS THAN $100... please let me know! Thanks! **

The First Week Back.... Felt Like Hell

OMG! I don't know how I survived the first week of classes, but I have... 5 classes, Monday -Thursday... a presidents meetings, recruitment, and work! AHHHH My bestie said I'd be extremely tired after my first week back and I barely made it to day 3!! So far I like my classes. but then I always say this in the beginning of each semester... I'll let you know how I feel in mid-March! This semester I'm taking 2 classes for my major, Astronomy[the professor is funny so that should keep my interest], Jazz dance [super fun!], and my Alternative Spring Break class [I'm not sure what else to call it, but in this class we go to New Orleans during Spring break to help with Habitat for Humanity]. The only downside to my lovely classes? 8 books!!! I need 8 freaking books.. one class needs 3 book! ahhhh I hope I don't fall behind!

I Want to Change The World

By now, we all know of the sad situation in Haiti... Devastating earthquakes are never nice- doesn't matter what country it is. After 2 weeks of absorbing all the news reorts and hearing the thoughts of other people i feel i have finally been able to wrap my head around this situation. My view on th whole thing is caught in the middle. On one hand i feel tremendously bad for the families that have been effected by the earthquake. I'm thankful that there are certified doctors that have taken the time to help the injured and needy in Haiti. and i love the fact that people have come together to assist in helping bring peace and happiness back to Haiti in the hope that things can be rebuilt like they once were.

Yet on the other hand... i'm a little egocentric. I cant seem to understand where this sudden "we need to make a huge difference" attitude came from. I don't recall the victims of Hurricane Katrina getting a telethon... or the families of 9/11. How often are we helping the homeless in the U.S.? I know this seems rude, but that is my pure opinion... just like the top half is also my opinion. It seems that when the U.S. runs to the rescue of others its like a slap in the face to the US citizens who desperately need help. Did i mention parts of New Orleans; manly citizens that survived the hurricane, still don't have proper housing.... Yes thats true. How do i know? I know because I'm taking a class and during our spring break we're going to N.O. to help buildd a house for someone who lost theirs after Hurricane Katrina rolled through. That was 5 years ago?! Should N.O. people still be living out of trailers?! Should more and more U.S. citizens still be suffering? I don't think so.

Please don't think I'm not being sensitive towards the Haiti situation, because I am. I do plan to donate to an org to help take meds there to help people... but i also want to see the U.S.A. become a happier/ safer place! I vow to help change something about the homeless epidemic because is not a pretty site.

Back to School = The Beginning of the End

So school starts back tomorrow (my inner dork is kinda happy), and this will be my last semester as a full time student! Wooo Hooo! Although I still have to come back in the summer [2 classes] AND the fall [for 1 freakin class] spring 2010 will be the last time I take 12 or more units! Thank GOD! Many of the other students from my major that graduated last spring, or this upcoming one got/are getting job related to the major, gearing up for grad school and all that. But for some reason I'm a little hesitant... almost like I'm going backwards rather than forward. As of now I have a job related to my career field. but not 100% in the area that i would prefer to be working. I'm a little scared to go job hunting for a job in my desired career. idk why...

#72 -- on 101 list - COMPLETE

So my best buddie Kim had a b-day a few weeks months back (September to be exact).. and I learned it's not easy trying to surprise someone... especially her! But overall she was surprised cause she has NO clue I was planning anything for her b-day [what kind of BFF do u think I am kim?!] so yea... here's the main surprise... she really didn't see this one coming! [no pics of kim.. she doesn't want her face plastered all over the Web.. just on Myspace & Facebook... lmao] !!

She loves her RPattz... I still don't see the hottness... but whatev.

new hair

So I haven't dyed my hair since last year... I did blonde highlights. before then I've only dyed my full hair twice, maybe 3 times... the first time was in 2006- honey blonde! Then in 2007 I dyed it all a dark brown to get rid of the blonde that was left. Now I'm going for an Auburn color... Originally I wanted red highlights, BUT it was impossible to find a highlight kit with red color.. so I settled on auburn color. I might dye it a more red tone in a month or so...

before:

after:

what do you y'all think?! Can you tell that I even dyed it? LoL.. this is what i used.. <-- this color is on the bottom half of my hair, prob not visible in the pic

<- this color is on the top half of my hair

Random Celeb Crush

So i'm sure i mentioned this before, but about 6 months ago i discovered Criminal Minds! and can't get away from it! I was watching the new episode last night and realized something.... Matthew Grey Gubler is really cute... in a dorky kinda way. Now his character- Spencer Ried- is like a genius who's already a doctor in his mid 20s! The more i've seen this show, the more he become adorable! And the last episode was no help... men always look better when their al dress up.. and well he was rockin a suit.. very nice... So this dude has now become my new television crush.... lol.. just thought i'd let y'all know

... Shamar Moore is mighty fine too ;)

For the longest i was glued to CSI Miami for this man--->

But since he got cut in season.... ummm whatever season their in now (7 i think..) i slowly lost interest in the show =( the 'drama' isn't the same... but at least he's on random episodes of Ugly Betty.... which i never seem to know about until the episode has already aired.. grrr

Minx nails

I saw a video about this nail procedure on YouTube and I want to do this... I might be a little late with this trend, but oh well! From the research I did, this is a little pricey. Have any of you tried Minx nails before? I might wait until my birthday or graduation to try it out.

OTH is back!

Aww the one show that I've been watching for.. well over 5 years, is back with new episodes. I must admit that I did not think season 7 would be as good as it is turning out to be! For those that watch, know what happened in season 6-- all the drama and suspense just for Peyton and Lucas to leave?! I really worried season 7 would go downhill but they've managed to keep the plot good and interesting! So YAY to the writers of O.T.H. I hope the show is brought back for a season 8!! I'm not sure how the reason of Season 7 will look, but I think Brooke needs a baby.. and a husband.. she's just been through soooo much!!! She needs her happiness too... so Julian needs to step it up and fight for Brooke... and Brooke needs to stop shutting Julian out...!! lol... okay, enough of that rambling.. comment if you wish...

the original cast... I liked it better this way [season 1-6!]season 7 cast .. a few new faces... but whatever

Life Waits For No One

So today was a super lazy day for me..... since mother nature has decided to kick my ass this week, I've been a complete bum! Reading a book a got from the library recently [Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher-- good freakin book!!!!!] and since the cable is off this week, i decided to watch the 2nd half of One Tree Hill- season 3 and then started on season 4..... Told y'all i be being a super bum!

Anyway... i was on facebook earlier.. and started to realize I've lost touch with soooo many people in just a few months! I took a little hiatus from FB to try to focus more on school and other things i was involved in last semester.... and at some point i stopped communicating with sooo many people. It wasn't until today, after messaging 3 diff people that i realized how much i have been excluding myself from people, from life. I feel bad about it.. I literally let certain aspects of my life over shadow other parts and i unconsciously shut people out... found out one friend/acquittance is engaged! An old from from TX is about to have a baby (<--- that's 9 months of no communication right there!!). Granted, i did get in contact with an old [like back to 5th grade old] friend last week, but that was only after having her number for more than a year!!! Thank God her number didn't change.

One main thing i want to do this year is reconnect with the people I've lost contact with/ stopped talking to within the last months.... The last thing i would want to happen is to one day hear that person is no longer here or they've moved or the number is different or anything. So that will obviously mean LESS PROCRASTINATION, less blogging... better time management... making time for those that i would've been too 'busy' to do something with. I don't want to look back and think "oh what if i had kept in touch with this person, or that person. How would my life be different."

.... wow.. this is prob the longest blog I've written that's not some kinda challenge.... idk if that's good or not...

Real life, sometime sucks!

... and it sucks big time! So I'm kinda un-employed at the moment.. kinda. The silver lining in all if this? I'm waiting for a background check to comeback for a job I recently applied for soooooo I'm double crossing fingers and toes hoping I get a call back ASAP!!... So as I wait, for the 2nd job to give me a green light, for school to start back and everything.... I'm going to the gym [rather than making monthly donations] reading, and watching season 3 of O.T.H. Not too boring right?!.. maybe a little? =/ In time I'm sure things will all get better.

# 36 -- on 101 list-COMPLETE

completed: Sept. 2009. still decreasing soda intake today

WOW no soda for 2 weeks... I really thought it would be harder than it really was! It's funny how we really are capable of not doing something if we're really determined! Every time I got thirsty and eyed a bottle of orange soda it was way too tempting, mainly because I'm so used to always drinking soda but I've found some good substitutes! Juice, water, Robek's and more water!! I think it was partially because I'm taking both aerobics and a dance class this semester and I know that all the sugar wouldn't help when I was already tried and dehydrated. My next mission [which will indeed be tough] will be to decrease my chocolate intake.... we'll see how that goes, whenever it starts!

The Entertainer's TV show?!

Did anyone ever watch I Love New York? I hate to admit it, but i did watch a few- and i mean a few episodes. Well one of the guys from her show, who was know as "The Entertainer", now has his own show on VH1! Seriously, how many spin-off love shows can they make.... this all stemmed from Flavor Flav trying to find love and he found the beast ... 'New York' then she felt the need to go out and look for a man... ugh.... So now i really don't understand the reasoning behind this new show with Frank (The Entertainer).. yea, he's cute... but they film the show in his parent's house!! VH1 must've paid a pretty penny for his parent's to agree to this... i wont even comment on this girls... Has anyone seen this show? what do y'all think?

Bally's will become my new BFF

So through out 2009 I noticed some weight gain =( so my main goal for 2010 is to lose some weight. From time to time I'll keep y'all updated on my progress.

Current weight: 175ish =(
Ideal weight: 140- 150 [i know that seems like a lot, but I'm 5'7"]

There's this cool blog i found called Operation Skinny Bitch [cute title, huh?] well its a blog all about trying to lose weight and monitoring your progress.

Reflection of the last decade

Well 2009 was good, so has the first 10 years on 2000 [counting 2000-2009] I'm going to briefly list some of the things that were memorable to me over the last 10 yrs and kinda had an effect on who I am today.

modern-freaking- technology
- MySpace -- I'm sooo over this now, but back in 05 it was the thing to be on!
- Facebook-- back when only college students could use it... good times
- twitter-- ahhh i said i would never use it, now I'm always tweeting something =/
* and now desktop computers have gone touch screen capable!

the end of Boy Bands...
haha I know y'all are like 'WTF?' but as a teen, especially 1998-2002 i LOVED my boy bands, Nsync and Backstreet boys mostly.. fun times those were... kinda glad I've grown up past it all. I wasted sooo much money on damn posters that I don't have any more.... but I'm not sure if its the 'end' because New Kids came back and BSB still making albums... I'm just waiting on news of an Nsync reunion tour.
high-tech cell phones
umm does anyone remember when cell phones were tiny and had a grey looking screen? all you could do was sent text messages and play some corny snake game? hahaha wow... but you can take pics and video, browse the web and pay bill from your cell phone!!! crazy

Reality TV
now although MTV had the first reality show in the early 90s it all kinda got out of hand in the early 2000s... i was soooo beyond annoyed with Reality TV.. now I'm still kinda annoyed, but i do have those few shows i love to watch.

DVR and Tivo
ahhhh good-bye VCR hello DVR!! who ever created this is a genius!!! I love it... no more having to buy cassette tapes to record my fave shows for when I'm not home- saved me money for sure!

Movie stars as the Governor?
maybe its just in California. but I remember everyone goes nuts w/ excitement because 'Mr. Terminator' became out Governor.... Yea.. and now look what a fab job he's doing! ::sarcasm:: the only thing i see being terminated is the school systems =(

The 1st African-American President
I voted and my voted counted [technically it always does.. but this time my vote won!] YAY November 2008 was such an emotional time, for everyone i think. Just thinking about it gives me chills and brings a smile to my face.

a little film called Twilight
WTH... never before in my life, aside from Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers [back in the early 90s], have I been sooo damn hooked on a movie/series. This movie snuck into my life and it wont leave. But it's perfectly fine because i LOVE it!

Fashion Trends
- my goodness.. some fashion trends over this last year and the last 10 have been crazy! Does anyone remember back in 03 or 04 when fish net shirts was in? I remember Forever 21 selling fish net shirts.... not cute.
- cut up leggings are not cute; it looks like someone was attacked by a cat!
- denim- its gone through numerous transformations during the last 10 years.. i do recall a time when wide-leg jeans were 'in then flare jeans.. now skinny and 'the boyfriend' jeans are in.. however 'the boyfriend' jeans are not cute to me... not at all.

Britney Spears
Yes, I'm a Britney fan. She's done a lot in the last 10 years... she's had her ups, downs and all in between. I still love her though. her classic dance moves and video costumes that people still mimic to this day; her break-up with JT... and then it all went down-hill =( that random dude she married for 2 days... K-fed [ugh] and her 2 adorable baby boys. I hope next year and the 10 year bring us more B. Spears!!!

Napster & iTunes/ iPod
what the hell did we do before iPods and MP3s??? Does anyone remember when Napster was 'illegal' and some kids got charged for downloaded music from there.... ahhh that was scary stuff! Thank God for iTunes and the iPod... who would have thought a tiny gadget could hold 1200+ songs... i LOVE it =)

more movie reviews

Up- i heard from a lot of different people that this was a cute movie, but not 100% okay for young kids since it touches on the subject of death. Yes it does mention death, but so did the Lion King, and my childhood didnt get ruined when Mufasa died.. just saying.. overall the movie was indeed cute. the little old man [whose name i forget] learned that his wife wanted him to be happy, and that's what he was in the end. And he became a nice father-figure/ grandpa/ role model for the little boy. [personally i think the fact that the little boy's daddy went MIA was more of a sensitive topic than the lady dying, but that's just me.] 4 out of 5 stars

The Hangover- THE funniest movie I've seen since The Kings of Comedy! I literally laughed from beginning to the end... just thinking bout it makes me laugh! 10 out of 5 stars... yes i said 10 out of 5... it was that funny

Beyond a Reasonable Doubt- this movie was.. okay.... nice plot, had lots of twists and turns t hat i did not expect! Seriously the ending was NOT at all what i expected!! Amber Tamblyn [Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants] is in it and Jesse Metcalf [soap opera Passions]. The beginning was kinda slow, took me a while to really get into it, which says a lot since i LOVE crime/ thriller movies. But once the movie got going, it got good! 3.5 out of 5 stars

The Proposal- this was a cute movie. I love Romantic-Comedies. The concept was cute!
Sandra Bullock's character held on to soo much anger and pain from her childhood that she was a b**ch to anyone 'below her' at her job.. until a little white lie and a weekend with a guy she was pretending to be engaged to, made her realize why she acted the way she did and why she needed to change her attitude.

Four Christmases - Although I'm not a big Vince Vaughn fan, this movie was funny. This movie did teach me that you gotta be careful of who you lie to and when you're around news cameras! And you're never too old to face your fears! 3.5 out of 5 stars

The Messengers- I only got this movie because KStew [that's Kristen Stewart aka Bella from Twilight, for you non-twilight fans] was in it. It was a decent 'scary' movie. kinda followed along with other 'kinda-sorta-but not really scary movies that came out in the late 2000's. 3 out of 5 stars

Paranormal Activity - This movie reminded me of The Blair Witch Project- which wasn't scary at all! So this movie was decent enough.. Although I did think the movie was based on a true story until I looked it up on google =) 3.5 out of 5 stars

Happy New Year!!!

WOW can y'all believe its 2010?! I swear 2009 went by wayyyy too fast. For the most part it was a good year. It had its high points and low points, that happens to us all. Lots of changes occured in '09. I'm really excited to see what this new year and new decade has to offer me. After reflecting on the last year and wondering about the future ive adopted a new little motto that i hope to really follow this new year. It says:

" Live life to the fullest and embrace it with not regrets "
Hope everyone has/had a great New Years and was with friends and/or family.
