Hair Cut ♥

So after months of experimenting with various hairstyles and finally found a salon that uses a press comb [ their not too common down here for some reason]! I actually wanted my hair shorter BUT the length is fine for now. The cut was very much necessary! My poor hair has been to hell and back over the course of 2011 *sigh* and I vow to not dye it any more.... for a long time at least. and if i do want it dyed i'l be getting that done at a salon... no more hair-dying on my own

Sears is having a SUPER clearance on their "summer" clothes [dresses, skirts, shorts, tops etc], I'm talking about $2.99 type of sale! In all I picked up 4 dresses and a blazer all for $12!!! Yes you read that correctly.. TWELVE DOLLARS!!! Originally I wasn't going to buy anything since I'm saving up for an apartment BUT I could not pass this up!!!

Healthy Eating.... Healthy Living

since moving to Texas in February I completely changed my eating habits... did a full 180!!! I cut out fast food, started cutting back on fried food and would bake my fish and chicken, cut back on red meats too!!! and on July 17 I made an attempt to go one week without eating any meat!! That one week has turned into close to 6wks!!!!! NEVER would I have thought I'd be able to do that! Sound crazy I'm sure, but meat [beef, pork, chicken] was always the staple of every meal. At 25 I want to live a healthier life!! Too many diseases run on both sides of my family and I DO NOT want to die in my 50s or 60s from something that can be prevented! So far I'm enjoying my vegetarian diet... learning to eat more fruits and salads to compensate for the meat i would usually eat.

in January I was 180 lbs.... in May I was between 155 and 160. Since I stopped eating meat I've gotten down to 148/150!!! 150lbs was always my target weight so I'm excited I was able to reach it!! When I started going to the gym, I met with a personal trainer and she swore I could get down to 140lbs.... I thought she was coo-coo ... but now i can totally do it! I just need to start working out again and I'll get there!! The more healthy meals I start making, I'll try to remember to take pictures and post them on the blog. Hope you all have a great rest of the week!

Hi girls!!! I know I've been MIA all summer. It was a very hectic/stressful summer :-( I finished my internship- got an A!!!! Didn't do so well in my anatomy class.... Have to take it again *tears* main bad thing about that is all the sections at the community college near me are FULL O_O. On top of that my living situation is close to unbearable but I don't have the money to move. Sooo as much as I hate to I'm thinking about putting off the anatomy class til the spring and work as much as I can now so I can move by January.

Aside from all that stress, I've been eating healthier!!! Went on a one week "no meat" diet and it turned into a month! As a result of the diet (and a little stress I'm sure) I'm down to 149/150 lbs!!! So I've reached my goal weight!! I haven't exercised much during the summer, but now that I have a little more free time I'm sure I can get down to 140. That's the weight the trainer at the gym felt I could get down to. I thought she was crazy, but now I see its possible!!

I can't wait to get back to doing posts, nails of the week, hauls, etc! When I find time I might change up the layout a bit! Hope all is well with u all. Ttyl!

I only intended to watch the award show for 3 reasons: Trey Songz performing, Justin Timberlake presenting, and Breaking Dawn trailer. And just like typical MTV they spread that shit out.... Literally!! JT was the first presenter and I'm a little jealous of Mila Kunis cause well, who wouldn't wanna feel all on JT!?!? Haha but yea he's still cute in my eyes so I support him still.... Even when he refuses to put out a new album *eye roll*

Trey's performance with ______ ummm my mind just went blank so I don't remember dudes name BUT Trey's portion was nice, good energy and nice outfit ♥ but next year I need trey up there singin his own music!

I loved how the host cracked jokes on everybody! He definitely help the show not suck! Good choice MTV!

Breaking. Dawn. *speechless* *starts drooling at the thought* ahhhhhhhh it was nothing short of AMAZING! My best friend and I discussed it via BBM (and there's an hour time difference btwn us) and basically we got the trailer figured out. Now I'm a Team Jacob girl BUT I'm a little excited to see how the last book turns out considering it surrounds Bella and edward and their wedding...... I just hope (for Summit's sake) they stay true to Book 2!!! That's all Jacob's perspective and it would be nice to see how that plays out on the big screen!! All-in-all the rest of the show was a blur...lol

So earlier today MTV and/or the official Twilight Twitter page posted a video... a super short 15sec video of the trailer for Breaking Dawn-Part 1 [the 4th and final book in the series; being broken into 2 films] I CAN NOT wait until June 5th.. I should set my DVR now.... but yea I am beyond excited for this film as I am a HUGE Twi-fan [Team Jacob 100%] ! This post is basically just to pass this video along to everyone else. Enjoy!

How was everyone's Memorial Day weekend?! Mine was.. okay. I worked Friday-Sunday; was off Monday but was sick.... felt like complete crap! No bueno at all!!! But at least it's almost Wednesday ♥

I start my internship tomorrow!!! I should be half sleep by now but Im not... gotta triple check and make sure I have all the paper work done and my lovely "bus" route figured [i refuses to call the buses here buses after riding the metro in :LA....] Also I start my bio class next week, i only pray that goes well!

I did ny nails eariler this week; used China Glaze 108 Degrees. I got this color with my ULTA order from a few weeks back. I didn't initially choose this color cause i already have a few pinks/reds/ polishes. But the names screamed "BUY ME" haha plus it kinda makes a Twilight reference and since I'm a fan of the wolves[ Team Jacob over here] I could not pass it up! My best friend laughed when I told her what it was called.... [[For those still confused on how it ties into the movie.... Jacob, the kids that turns into a wolf in New Moon, has a body temp of 108 degrees... hahha so yea]] But this color is really cute... its a red/pink mix with sparkles! I really like it!

Life Update

How are all my followers doing?! I'm sure many of you had/have finals coming up... good luck to those of you that do! I'll be taking classes this summer so I can FINALLY get my degree.. this has been the most time consuming experience ever but surprisingly I still want to go to graduate school next year.

I'm still adjusting to life in Texas.... I just recently found out [3 months after moving ugh] that there are buses down here.... their small shuttle buses but it will get me to my internship and school. Only downside is they don't run after like 5:30 pm [that's very retarded but whatever...] and my bio class will get out at 9:00pm sooo we'll see what happens with that.

Currently I'm debating on whether or not to get a 2ns job. The place I'm working now I get about 35+ hours but once my classes start I'll be available fewer days and I still will have the same amount to pay for my lovely bills and the last thing I need right now is to get behind on payments because I'm trying to improve my credit [ and credit it what will help me get a car and my own apartment next year]. Its so frustrating when I look back and think of the things I could have done differently, but I know I can't dwell on those cause it will only prevent me from moving forward.

Besides what I already mentioned, things are going okay... I'm sure my best friend will tell you I complain about everything but I guess that's a part of adjusting to grown up life. Its always been hard for me to adapt to new or sudden change and its gets no more "new or sudden" than what I've gone through the last 4 months. But I know in the end its only making me stronger, so that's good =)

From reading blogs and watching countless YouTube videos I've learned about a few different products that are pretty popular. China Glaze and OPI are usually the top 2 nail polish brands I hear about and until now I never owned any! But i saw a coupon in a sunday paper for the ULTA.com and couldnt help buy check out the site and order some stuff. I got 3 China Glaze polishes and 2 NYX lipsticks

Last weekend I was in the mall and stumbled across a little store that sold OPI polish! Lucky for me this store had the Shatter collection and the Texas collection! I picked up the Black Shatter and Guy Meets Gal-veston of the Texas collection. Its a cute pink shade... which is perfect as I actually lived in Galveston when i was a kid. I also picked up a Sally Hansen color I saw on ULTA.com but they were sold out. Soo glad Wal-mart had it!!

Hard to believe that I'm 25 today [ahhhhh] It's a little weird with my mom not being here. I didn't really do much this past weekend... Got my hair done Friday then had dinner with my dad & sisters and nieces/nephews on Friday.. Fam Reunion was Saturday [didn't get to go out Sat. night =( ] then on Sunday went to church and saw Scream 4 [which was really good!!!] I had a good time with my fam! As a birthday present to myself I ordered a new laptop [yay!!!] It has more memory than my other one, was much cheaper AND has a webcam! It should come sometime this week.. can't wait! Also I ordered season 5 of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and the new Twilight Encyclopedia book from Borders.com! And if you know me you would know that I LOVE LOVE LOVE Will Smith and Twilight sooo I'm loving the gifts I got myself =)

i have seasons 1-4.. searched high and low for this!! And season 6 comes out tomorrow. i will be ordering it later in the week when Borders sends me a coupon lol

this inside of this book is freaking adorable!!! Tons of detailed drawings and info on each and every character of the series... its a must have for every Twilight fan!

Sally Hansen Salon Effects ♥

Way back in December I purchased the Sally Hansen Salon Effects polish strips! If y'all don't know what this is I'll explain. Its basically strips of nail polish that you put on your nails to achieve a funky look without spending $40 at a nail salon! The day we got these in I bought a pack. I've listed my pros and cons to this product and some pictures. I used the #360 "Laced Up" set

... I LIKE ...
-the funky styles of the polish strips are super cute and different than your everyday polish
-i don't have to layer 2 and 3 coats of polish!
-not too expensive: at CVS its $10, [since moving I've noticed Wal-Mart has them for less!!]

... I DON'T LIKE ...
-not all the strips fit my nails
-some of the polish strips make little dents. not noticeable to others,
-you only get 16 polish strips so you can really only use the one box once =(

*I used these strips on fake nails so they may have fit better on my natural nails...

Have any of you tried these nail strips? I think about brand makes them too but i don't remember which brand.....

Healthy Eating

Since moving back to Texas I have been eating a lot healthier than ever before! We have started buying organic fruits, milk and chicken; I'm eating less junk food, no soda, and hardly any red meat, and no fast food. It was difficult at first but now I have no taste for some of that stuff. I've also been working out now... Got a membership at 24 hour fitness and so far I've been doing well; going 2 or 3 times a week during the last 2 weeks. Since going I've learned that walking on the treadmill for 30 minutes will help you burn more calories than the bike or elliptical [depending on the speed level you use I assume].

The other day this picture below is what I had for breakfast.... its crazy because just a few months to a year ago i was stuffing my fast with instant grits, sugary cereals or pop-tarts!!! The spread i used on my toast was peanut butter mixed with dark chocolate, its "Peanut Butter & Co." brand- yummy stuff

I know some other bloggers are talking about eating healthier.. so what are some healthy foods/meals you ladies are trying?

Hair Delimma; Solved

So since moving back to Texas I have found it somewhat hard to get my hair done like I used to have it in California... Everyone keeps saying how I'm gonna have to get a perm and blah blah... but I REFUSE to put that crap in my head!! I know good and well that my hair can get straight and pretty with a simple pressing comb and flat iron! I haven't had a perm/relaxed in like 7 or 8 years and it would be beyond dumb for me to turn back now! Especially with my hair recently dyed and damaged... those chemicals would only do more harm and I'd end up bald-- no thanks! One of my cousins told me that most 'natural' hair stylist are in Houston... only problem is, I don't have a car of my own... lonnnngggg story short; I've chosen a protective style to wear until I can find a stylist I like.

Hi ladies! Hope you are all doing well. I've made it safely to Texas and still getting settled in. Unpacking is just as grueling as packing! As of right now I have no clue if I want to go back to work. I've worked since I was 18 so I'm a little worried about not working but at the same time I don't want the stress that my old job had [assuming that its the same way out here]. I truly feel that I need to take the next few months off to relax and get my mind right and prepare for my future. I'll be finishing school this summer [no if, ands, or buts about it]!!

In a week or so I get back to blogging on a regular basis! I plan on getting a new laptop with webcam so I can try to make some videos for my blog. And eventually I'll get that giveaway started!! Until my next post I hope you all have a great day!!

how is everyone doing?! Just wanted to give you all a quick update on me. For the most part I am doing okay.... Up until this point I've been dealing with my mom's death in a calm manner. I truly broke down a few times this last few weeks.... Since I've always lived with my mom it was weird getting adjusted to her not being here for me to talk to everyday. After days of trying to figure out what to do and days of discussing whats best for "everyone" The final decision is making everyone happy; but ME! Now I'm very stubborn and I HATE sudden change... i like to know what the hell is going on before hand. So this last minute decision is for me to move back to Texas and live with my brother and sister-n-law. Now usually this wouldn't seem like a drastic thing BUT i still haven't finished school.... I contacted my school so i cant take my last course at any university/community college in Texas and get it transferred back to my school in California; which still allows me to get my degree!! The only difficult part will come from completing the internship course. I will have to meet with my counselor next week and get that figured out so I can get everything lined up for summer session.

Right now my head is spinning with all that "What Ifs", of the things I could have or should have done so I wouldn't be in such an awkward position right now. I'm a religious person so i know God will work it all out for me... but the part of me not knowing how everything is going to unfold is what frightens me the most!!

The blog will resume in late February or March... I just need a lot of time to think and get adjusted to EVERYTHING. Thanks to all the followers and those who sent their condolences with my last post!

blog hiatus; life just got hard

As of today there will be a hiatus on my blog... the one place i could usually come to relieve stress is being put on a back burner. As many of you know my mother had been sick since like May 2010. We all found out in mid December that the cause of her illness was cancer...... breast cancer to be exact. She fought and beat breast cancer twice before in the early 1990s. She started chemotherapy treatment right before the new year... but on new years eve she went back to the hospital due to breathing difficulties......from that day on she got weaker with each passing day..... on yesterday January 8, 2011 she was not able to fight anymore. I miss my mother dearly and it all seems a blur still. Maybe in a month or 2 will continue with the blog, but right now it don't feel right talking about clothes and makeup..... i love all my followers and those other bloggers i chat with on twitter =) also i was planning a giveaway... that will also be put on hold. So until i return... be safe and stay blessed!! cherish everyday!

Here is how I painted my nails last week to get a little more into the holiday spirit, and to make myself feel better despite all that's been going on lately. I don't really celebrate Christmas. Not because of any religious belief but because I feel its a huge contradiction. Everyone says Christmas is the birth of Jesus Christ , yet the main focus is giving gift and making sure you give the best one to people. Now don't get me wrong, I have participated in work and sorority gift exchanges in the past. And my family did go all out up until I was 14. But after that I lost interest in the whole thing. I did get some things for my 2year-old niece because her parents choose to celebrate for her and since I was not able to get her much for he b-day this was a substitute. So yea, my holiday basically consisted of me going to work [yes my job was open Dec 25th] and its was CRAZY busy =( So enough of my babbling... here are my nails

It's no surprise to anyone that I LOVE Justin Timberlake. So as a fan I support all he does: acting, singing and of course his clothing line! When this line first came out a few years back I could not afford any of it and refused to fork up $300+ for one article of clothing!! Thank God he put a line at target! I can afford target AND I have a target card...so needless to say I now own some William Rast clothes... just waiting for them to come in the mail!! =) Here is a sample of the line.

I heard this on an episode of One Tree Hill a few weeks back and really started to think about it. Its completely true! I think a lot of the time people [myself included] think/feel that "happiness" comes when we get things we want or go places we want to go. But true happiness should be when we're content with out current situation. We all go through hard times, some more than others, but there is always someone worse off then ourselves then probably would love to switch positions. I know i complain alot when things dont go right, or my way.. but its not until i start talking to others that i relalize that my life aint too bad.... not perfect but it could deff be worse! Like recently I had issues with my school and i had/have to pay close to $2600 for 2 classes/semesters before i get my diploma. For the lonnnggest time i griped, complained and moaned about how unfair it was for them to mislead me or to make me pay so much. But then one of my former co-workers told me how he was to pay full tuition at the school he goes to. I know people who have had to take out tens of thousands of dollars just to get through school because they didn't qualify for financial aid. Sooo long story short, my plan for the rest of this year, 2011, 2012 and so on is to not complain as much because others in this crazy world have a harder time than me. So that just my lil random thoughts on that... =) I truly hope that all of you reading this have a fun and safe week/Christmas/Kwanzaa/ whatever you choose to celebrate [or not celebrate]. xoxo.

Yes, that's right..... I loved The Backstreet Boys as a teenager, and I still love them now. I may or may not have loved *Nsync more BUT that's not the point.... the point of this post is... The Backstreet Boys are clearly not going anywhere anytime soon. This time around their teaming with with the hottest [.. and probably only] boyband from the 80s.. LOL. Looonnnggg story short; these 2 groups are touring together next summer and I'M GOING! Yep, even before the AMAs aired, I grabbed up my ticket to the NKOTBSB show that hits Los Angeles. Since none of my friends are fans of BSB I'm going to the show alone, BUT I'm sure I'll make friends with other fans by then! For the most part the AMAs were BLAH. Most of the performances were boring as well. Usher, Pink and NOTBSB were the best, in my opinion.

Brrr.. It's Cold in Here

Yes I pulled that straight from Bring It On! It's finally getting cold here in California so winter attire is needed!! Recently I went to Target [~~and almost bought up the whole store...]~~ and bought a few things. A few days later I ordered some things from Forever 21 for me & my mom [her gifts are a surprise..]. Then yesterday my mom & I went looking for a cute jacket for my niece..and left with like 2 extra bags.... oops [after reading this sounds like we went on a pre-Black Friday Shopping spree, lol]

Healthy Living

Right now, I should be sleep considering I have a headache and it has taken those 2 little Advil's a little too long to kick in... But I'm not sleep. As I was watching a CSI: NY re-run I started to think: I way wayyy unhealthy. I don't know if this is from years of busy college life; "eating on the go" mentality.. but that is exactly how I eat. Since I typically work at night I have time to make breakfast but never do much for lunch, so when my meal break comes at work and I go home to eat its something quick and usually high in sodium. I also realized [I've always known this but have been in DENIAL] I eat entirely wayyyyy toooo much CHOCOLATE ::cringes:: ahhhhh there I said it. I eat some form of chocolate almost everyday. And I don't mean just one small Hershey kiss, i mean like a regular size kit-kat or a bag of almond M&Ms ... which is all very unhealthy after a few days.. UGH. I'm kinda mad at myself for being in such denial about it for so long....I needed a intervention YEARS ago- seriously!!

I've seen other blogger posting healthy food choices/meals/recipes on their blogs. I may do something like that, or look for some good cookbooks for beginners, cause the Lord knows I'm no Martha Stewart! As I come across good healthy food tips I will try to post them. I'm 5 months and 15 days shy of my 25th birthday and I want to be a lot more healthy than I have been in the past... too many health issues effect both of my parents sides of the family for me to not get my act together! What are some food choices you ladies have made to live healthier?

A few health changes I have made are:

Instead of SODA, I drink flavor water [Sobe Life water, Vitamin water, Propel, etc]
Instead of regular juice [Ocean Spray Cran-Apple that's only 27% juice], I get the Ocean Spray 100% mixes.. its all real juice so there is NO added sugar!]
I have been eating more bananas which is VERY unlike me, or at least the old me!
Lately I've been eating baby carrots... I use Jalapeno-Ranch dip ti give it flavor cause I don't like regular Ranch... [yea, I'm weird]

I've been eating a lot less fried chicken! Maybe once every few months, as opposed to every other week!!!! Baked chicken is much better!!

Busy, busy busy + new hair do

I've wanted to post so badly the last week or 2, but had NOTHING to blog about, with the exception of the 2 things I actually blogged about =/ Hope everyone enjoyed their October; can't believe its already over. I've been crazy busy w/ work lately... working 30+ hours is VERY time consuming, never understood that until now. I did nothing for Halloween because I worked all weekend, then one of my dear friends moved clear across the country! School is.. okay. I had a test last Friday and I think I did okay.. All-in-all life is okay. Mom is getting better which is always good.

Remember how I posted before about getting a half wig to wear as a protective style? Well this past weekend I got my first weave [sew-in]!!! My cousin did it and people have said they can't even tell its a weave! Posted a pic on Facebook and one of my sisters thought it was my real hair. Surprisingly the color matched perfectly =) I'll post a few pics below, what do you girls think?

Mid October Haul

I worked extra hours the past few weeks and I swear I got "spending happy" Haven't been shopping in the longest time so I went to Ross which is by my house. I gave myself a budget of $40, and over spent.. BUT I got nice things. I noticed this day that my shopping habits have changed, and my style has changed as well. I looked around in various departments; shoes, women's, juniors, etc... I actually tried clothes one BEFORE buying.. which I wouldn't do 2 yrs ago! Anything that just did not work, didn't get bought! If I truly didn't need it of felt like I would wear it multiple times it was put back on the rack. So here's my lil haul of what I purchased.

Okay, I've realized that I'm getting a little crazy with my make-up purchases... at work some brands are buy 1, get 1 50% and then I had a coupon for $3 off 2 Maybelline products... needless to say, I stocked up! oops... I only spend less than $30 total from my 2 purchases.. but still.. LOL I need to stop being careless with my make-up buying.... so I'm going to slow it down a little, and use the eye shadows I have [which is now quite a few compared to 6 months ago!] Here is what i got!

Finally Growing Up??

I'm not sure what exactly has happened to me over the last few months... but I have made many changes in the way I act/think and the things I do. I'm assuming thats all apart of growing up right? I've begun to try new clothing styles and make-up looks... buying AND wearing HEELS [I hope hell isn't freezing over...]. and now I've decided to try wearing... a wig! I used to always say i would NEVER wear a weave etc but I was reading over a blog Healthy Kisses] and the blogger mentioned how occasionally wearing wigs is a great way to protect natural hair! My cousin usually does my hair every 3 or 4 weeks, so that means that roughly 2 weeks each month my hair is in my own hands!! [yikes!] I always try 'natural' styles like braid-outs, flat twists, etc and i would notice from time to time that this style would only last me 2 days and then my hair becomes a chea-pet, then I'm forced to comb it out and it looks frizzy!! :-/ So I went to YouTube to see what half wigs are, checked out a few website and thought "I could totally rock a half wig!!" So later on this week I will go to a local beauty supply store to price and try on a half wig and see how i like it. then if I truly like it I will but it [either in store or online, whichever is cheapest]

At one point I considered getting a sew-in weave but I've been told that the braids do damage to the hair. My main goal is to get my hair to a healthy state, and looong!! After my cousin cut my hair a few months back [here] my hair was at a much healthier state than it had ever been and it quickly began growing since she chopped off sooo much of my slit ends. So long story short, this is my current hair plan. I will of course post pics and a review once I get the whole half-wig thing figured out =)

Lately I've been laying low on buying a lot of makeup for various reasons. But i had a coupon for close to 50% off Revlon and this purchase caused me to get another coupon =) But I only got a few things so I figured I would do a review on the items I purchased.

Revlon Double Twist Mascara- black

I bought this particular mascara because it was on sale and I had coupons. With that said; this was the worst thing I could have bought!!! The brush was cute, but once the brush hit the little tube of mascara it was cute no more! The brush looks all gloppy when I pulled it out... I'm assuming because the mascara is too thick?! I've only used 2 other mascaras before; one (Maybelline Falsies) that I LOVE and one (Rimmel London) that is decent enough for me to continue to use, I think I will stick to the brand that works well for me! **Don't buy this mascara unless you like the "cake frosting mascara" look...

Revlon Illuminance Creme Shadow- Wild Orchids

I have another set of Revlon Creme Shadows... don't use it often since the colors are bold. The Wild Orchids set it more of a neutral tone. The colors are soft and seem like any one of the colors can go with just about anything you wear-- which I like! I wore two of the colors today [the ones on each end...]

Revlon Colorstay Mineral Lipglaze- Eternal Blossom

I originally wanted to Coral Color Lipglaze but it looked tampered with.... didn't want to risk using it if [God forbid] someone else used it as a tester.... This gloss is a little thick so I didn't need to apply much. the color doesn't stand out too much, which is okay. It blends in well with my complexion

Maybelline Eye Studio Color Pearls- Ivy Icon

This may seem a little bias, but I LOVE Maybelline Color Pearls. The colors are just basic with the bit of glam/glimmer added... if that makes sense. This color showed up well on my complexion. Haven't tried it on my eyes yet... soon I will.

Maybelline Eye Studio Color Pearls- Tantalizing Teal

Same as the previous description-- this color is kinda light, but still shows up well on my complexion. I have not tried this color on my eyes yet.. in the coming days i will =)

** Also, yesterday after work I bought a pack of 60 eye shadow brushes for $5 (from CVS) !! I figured this would be cheaper than trying to buy bigger brushes every other month.

Just friends? ... is it really possible?

Maybe its just me, maybe I'm just totally trippin out on this... but I no longer think males and females can be "just friends".... OR maybe in the case that the male and female have previously dated.... I think I mentioned in a post weeks back that I saw one of my exes from years ago. My initial reaction was "Okay, cool. We'll be like friends or whatever" .... that has not been the case one bit. From the jump, he made it kinda clear he wanted the "friends with benefits" package... I usually dont do friends w/ benefits, but considered it... We talked about it.. But then he got worried about things getting wierd between us..... (-_-) and I feel since this convo things HAVE been wierd. My best friend thinks that he changed his mind due to being scared of catching feelings; yet he expressed that he thought I would be the one trying to get all attached.

At this point I just want to scratch the whole "friends with benefits" thing and try to be just friends but i really dont foresee it happening (us being just friends as if the previous convo never happened).... So, I ask, have any of you girls had a situation like this? Any suggestions?!

Yea, I was kinda bored watching it. The performances were okay, but not one was I excited to see about, well maybe Eminem. His was nice. Glad Rihanna came out so they could do their duet. Wasn't really into T. Swift's performance..... not familiar with her new song. Gaga looked like a damn fool as usual. I understand people love her because she's "sooo creative" but at this point I feel its all for show.

Passion, Pain & Pleasure ♥

Hope everyone had an amazing Labor day week/weekend! I know Labor day was last Monday... but yea. =) School has been okay. I just have to keep up with the readings.. which is what I should be trying to do now...

This past weekend I went to the Trey Songz concert and all I can say is OMG! Monica did such a good job performing! And Mr Trey..... hott damn. That man right there.... words cant even explain! His stage show has greatly improved from the last/1st time I saw him perform in 2007.. back when he still had braids!! I'm assuming because this time around it was HIS tour... 3 albums in he *finally* gets his own headline tour. Long over due BUT he has earned it. He definitely knows how to make his fans feel loved. the venue was small and packed but i like the intimate setting. He loves to get personal with his fans, and i love that about him! His voice is out of this world amazing... and basically I'm a huge fan and very biased!

The one thing that ANNOYED the hell out of me was that the doors to the venue didn't open until 10:30 PM and my cousin and i got in line at 8:30... 2 hours of standing=OUCH. After the doors opened the inside was totally unorganized, not real structure on where people needed to go in order to get into the pit. But after shuffling around for about 10 more minutes, we were in the pit and close to the stage!!! The actual concert started about 11:30pm and we left at 3am!! Mid-way through my shoes came off! Thank goodness Trey performed his ass off and showed some skin cause I would've been highly upset. Overall the show was AMAZING and Trey can now be added to the exclusive list of music artist I'm willing to see perform more than once! =)

Back to school / update

So this week is back to school. Usually I'm excited but due to my current situation I'm not excited about the 1 class I'm taking this semester. Well I'm sort of excited since its not at my normal school... its at a community college that I've never taken classes at before. But its Human Bio/ Anatomy.... 'nuff said!

Also this week I get to go through step one of the hiring process for a preschool/child care teacher job I applied for. woo hoo!! I thought I hadn't been considered because I applied back in July. I soo need a job in that field, or the last 4 years would have been a total waste!

On Sunday I went to church for the first time in FOREVER [like almost a year!]. And due to me being a total emotional girl I broke down crying before the opening song service ended....Guess I still had some built up stress I needed to let go. The service was good and I got to see many familiar faces, and one I wasn't expecting. My ex! Not that recent jerk I mentioned before... but a dude I dated when I was like 19!! Now that seems like ages ago! We caught for a while, good times; almost didn't seem like we hadn't seem each other for 5 years! Crazy.

I didn't get to see Takers :-( but I'm totally cool about it! I will see it eventually. Heard a lot of good reviews so I'm even more exciting to see it... not sure how that's even possible since the 7 hotties in the movie had me all anxious! haha

...OR maybe not! haha I seem to only be creative occasionally. And this past weekend was one of those occasional times! I re-arranged my room Friday (during the small space between filling out a job app and meeting the director of the place i applied to and got to work at 2pm!). I cleaned some more on Saturday and then Sunday morning decided to play fashion designer!! lmao.

I was cleaning out my closet [the jeans section and noticed 2 pairs of jean I haven't worn since April when I was in New Orleans. The jeans were covered in paint, and I just knew I'd never really wear then again. But do I throw them out?! HECK NO! One pair I simply cut into shorts and the other pair I turned into a skirt.... and that took some patience. I finished the skirt after work. I must say the skirt came out looking kinda decent... one of these days while its still warm I shall wear it. Below are the after pics... didn't take any before pics [oops]

Ever since I started using eyeliner, its always been the pencil/crayon kind. Mary Kay has one smooth eyeliner that I LOVE. but when the pencil broke i was stuck w/o eyeliner! My mom didn't have anymore sooo I had to buy a Maybelline one that was similar; it did the job. After a while i got bored with my eyeliner looking smudgy, I was possibly doing something wrong! About a month before this I bought a CoverGirl liquid eyeliner, called ExactLine [I think....] The first few times I used it, I looked crazy! After trying it again recently I figured it out and now LOVE this eyeliner!! It looks really bold/standout-ish in pics, so that must be good, right?! On the few occasions I have used it, I look pics.

I think I mentioned this before, BUT the other day I ordered 4 items from Kohls.com [this started as a cart of like 12 things and I did some serious downsizing!] I only got items that WEREN'T in my closet [non churchy skirts] And since I was able to find a free shipping coupon I felt a tad bit less guilty about my small purchase [I need to be saving for school not buying skirts....] Anywho... after that I vowed to not buy anything [clothes, shoes, accessories, entertainment] unless I truly needed it. ......

BUT THEN I SAW THIS.....

Now if y'all don't know by now, I L-O-V-E, love Will Smith!! Like going back to when Bad Boys came out and I was like 9! Now I already have seasons 1-4 [....yea its that serious] of Fresh Prince... and now, NOW Season 5 wants to come out [actually its now that I'm finding out about this... the DVD came out in May?!]... after I've paid off my Target card?! Grrrr... but I refuse to give in... I shall wait patiently until December to buy FPoBA right along with my William Rast Jeans [ =D ] I guess it's kinda good I'm about to be tooo busy to even go to Target to get it....

OMG!
August 9th marked one year since i started this blog!! How the heck did a whole year pass by already??!?! A lot has happened in the last year. I've made too many lists to remember, I've made friends and possibly lost some too, went on a few awesome trips! Learned about other parts of the country, had a short-lived relationship that surprisingly taught me a thing or 2, learned/experimented more with make-up, changed jobs, dealt with drama from various sources, went through a depressing time, bought a guitar!, turned 24, (sorta) graduated from college [loooong story]. In the past year I have laughed, cried, been happy, mad, felt loved, felt hated, felt important, felt unappreciated. I've lived and learned above all else! I hope in the next 12 months I have more awesome experiences that I can reflect on!! So thank you all for sticking around for the last year to read my blog and read all of my randomness!! ♥

They really messed this one up! How do you change the day and time of when your two of your most popular shows come on???? And you put new crappy shows in their time slot?! I half-way understand that Hawaii Five-0 was popular back in the days before i was born, but darnit.... it does not need to be resurrected! Moving sexy Erik Delko (csi miami) to Sunday's will not help me look forward to Monday's.... and then you move CSI NY too??!?! UMMMMM That just screwed up an entire 2 hour block of TV/dvr time i had going..... shame. I might be upset about this for a while. at least until the new CSI seasons start! Thats all...

So I just discovered this show... Right before the season finale. But luckily ABC Family decided to show the entire first season before the finale. I was looking up info online about the show and as I thought(some parts were so obviously from a book), its based on a series of books!!! So now I have to read these books even though some of the show is super predicable!

Nail Art Review

So a few days ago I put up a post stating that I bought a KISS Nail Design kit. I tried it out last week. So far soo good! It comes with adhesive stencils that you place on your nail. Then you pick any one the 3 art paints and color in the stencil. Wait a few minutes, let the nail art dry and WAA-LAA you have a cute design on your nail.

* also add a top coat it help the color stay longer, thats what I did.

I chose the fleur-de-lis I've been on a 'New Orleans' high since March when I went and this new season of The Real World is only making it worse. ... and then i found some show on Discovery channel called The Colony thats loosely based in/on New Orleans.... maybe one day I'll move to N.O.

Wet Set/ Roller Set look

So I used to get a wet set look when I was younger and got relaxers. I currently haven't had a relaxer in over 7 years. So after seeing a lady at work with a roller/wet set look I decided to attempt the same. Don't laugh please! haha Since my hair is short (right at my ears) it looks poofy. But I still like it =)

Only 2 episodes have aired BUT I really like this new MTV show! I've seen both episodes and without failure I cried. LoL. It kinda got me thinking how everyone, even those of us no longer in H.S. Hide stuff from our friends and co-worker. So I decided I would do a post answering the question that is the focus point of that show.

IF YOU REALLY KNEW ME, YOU WOULD KNOW:
- some people think I'm "childish" but I'm not. I have a laid-back personality and apparently that comes of as childish? I dnt see how....
- I've always been the "good girl" and I HATE that...it comes with to many expectations....
- I'm often quiet, shy or kinda anti-social because I'm super insecure and scared of looking dumb.
- I'm too scared to approach a guy I like because I scared of being rejected... The few times I was brave enough, it didn't end on a good note :-( [this ties back to my insecuritiy issues]
- I've racked up a bus load of credit card debt to buy shit I thought would make me happy, and in the end it hasn't.
- I think I've been depressed for a while, but just recently came to terms with it because sooo much has been going on and its more noticable.
- I sometimes wish I had never moved to California.... Or at least not in the middle of 10th grade- it was just bad timing.

* I know this may seem like a depressing post, but that's my mood right now and I gotta vent somehow... I dnt wanna burdon others and I can't keep it inside... Hopefully some "happier" posts will come in the future.

I've seen this on NUMEROUS blogs and YT videos... usually people use a wooden frame and mesh wiring. BUT since I had neither, I improvised. Its not 100% sturdy but it works and kinda stands up. I used cardboard and mesh ribbon. I painted the cardboard pink since I have an abundance of wood / puffy paint

I hope graduate school doesn't turn into a 10 year project! A 2 year break is the max! I want to be successful and happy and able to help children and families! I hope as I'm finishing school the road to my career is approaching! I can't wait!

In the last 2 or 3 weeks I have been through more stress than I can remember. I've cried more times than I would have liked, became way too moody and possibly even depressed. I originally typed out a long post venting on my thoughts at the time but after re-reading it I decided not to post it. It wasn't until the other day that I realized that maybe if I were to become more faithful things may get better for me. I haven't been to church in.. 7 months!! I used to go every Sunday without failure! There was a time when I would go every Wednesday night as well. Going to church regularly was always something my family did. Now I almost feel lost since I haven't been in so long. I talked with one of my friends from church because I really want to start reading my bible more I hardly ever pick it up, and that really sad. Recently I found out a former Supervisor I had lost her fiance. she just gave birth to their daughter about 2 or 3 months ago. Its sooooo unfortunate when things like that happen, my heart goes out to individuals in those situations. Its worse when its someone I knew, and knowing how much they cared [or talked about] their loved one. I kinda feel bad for complaining about my problems when I look at what others are going through.
Some future posts may be religion based, different things I 've read or things i hear while at church (once I start going again). I know everyone has different religious beliefs so I don't mean to offend anyone with anything I may write.

What do you girls do when you're feeling extremely stressed? Anyone had a similar experience?!

To my sisters-
I love you both!! Due to our huge age difference we never bonded much... so that kinda sucks. But i do appreciate the talks we've had or just hangin out. And thanks for all the nieces and nephews i love them all! The oldest are like the little sisters i never had, so thanks for that! Thanks for watching my graduation online... all those txt messages right after i walked the stage meant soo much! As we all get older, and when i eventually move closer, I hope that we get the chance to bond more.

I couldn't have asked for another brother. All the arguments and fights, it was all out of love. thanks for always lookin out for me; even though sometimes you were toooo protective! I'm worried how you're gonna be with your daughter..... you're gonna have the boys running away! Thanks for all the talks, and lectures. HAHA

I love you both soo much.. I still sometimes wish y'all never separated....I used to wonder what things would have been like if we had all stayed in Texas.... But I can't really dwell on the past anymore. Plus everything happens for a reason, even though the reason is unknown. All I can do know is pray you both get healthier. I know you wont be here forever and that what scars me more than anything, but as long as I don;t think about it I'll be okay. Sometimes I wish you hadn't sheltered me so much when I was young... I think I'm having some kind of backlash from it now. But this letter isn't about what i wish you had or hadn't done.. either way I love you both for all you've done. Thanks!

We became friends so randomly.. all because of our love for Justin Timberlake.. now 10 years, 2 states and 1500 miles later we're still buddies! I never thought we'd become besties... we went from co-workers to friends to besties or "biffs"!
